Position Title: Caregiver/Uncertified HCA
Position Overview:
As a Caregiver/Uncertified HCA, you will provide compassionate non-medical assistance and support to individuals who require help with activities of daily living (ADLs), companionship, and household tasks in their own homes. Your role will focus on enhancing the quality of life and independence of clients while maintaining a safe and comfortable environment.
Responsibilities and Duties :
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility assistance, while respecting their dignity and privacy.
- Provide medication reminders and assist with medication management under the direction of healthcare professionals or family members.
-Assist in Regular exercise, eg. walk etc. if needed.
- Perform light housekeeping duties, including cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and grocery shopping, to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment for clients.
- Assist with transportation to medical appointments, errands, and social outings as needed.
-Execute on the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Manager with an approval of Client or his or her family member.
-Meet the safety needs of the client and use equipment safely and properly
-Function within the limits of your own experience and knowledge, while practicing safely and competently within the job description
Qualifications and Requirements:
-High school diploma or equivalent.
-HCA (Health Care Aide) certification is an asset but not essential.
-Previous experience in caregiving, healthcare, or related fields preferred.
-Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English, other languages are an asset.
- Compassionate and empathetic
- Possession of a valid Manitoba Class 5F driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and assisting with transfers.
Working Conditions:
- Work is primarily performed in clients' homes.
- Flexible scheduling may include Mornings, Afternoons, Evenings, Weekends, and holidays to accommodate clients' needs.
Looking for all visit times ; day, evening, night shifts, weekdays and weekends ( minimum 3 hour shifts, maximum 12 hour shifts )
